Develop a solution that would result in the elimination of that box/es.

Identify where in the timeline would a new path have developed (had the solution been in place).

Determine the alternate consequences.

Minimize the number of solutions.

Develop an action plan.

Discuss and agree the plan with action parties.

Capture the plan.

Plan an audit of the action item implementation to test effectiveness.
